Two Small Pouches

I’m not going to write much about these pouches, because I’ve already done similar projects and written about the process in depth. I made these two pouches as Thanksgiving gifts, and they came with a 3D printed rosetta soap dish, a flower shaped homemade soap in pink and blue, and a 3D printed tag. For the darker blue/red pouch I only have a single picture, since it was given away right after it was done. The other side of it also has partial circles without the FPP New York Beauties patchwork. We were about to move to a different house, and I had a few days of downtime before packing began. As soon as I was done 3D printing and sewing, the printer and sewing machine got loaded into the van along with a whole stash of fabric and filaments. “The stuff owns you” phrase never seemed more true than during the move!

Unfortunately, these turned out a bit smaller than I wanted them to be, since I started with a saved pattern I thought was the correct size of Cleopatra’s Fan Cluth, but turned out to be just a sized down guide for piecing, and not the actual pattern I should’ve used for the outline. In fact, I should’ve just made all new outline (it’s just a rounded corner rectangle, for Pete’s sake!) measuring at least 8″ for the width of the pouch, but c’est la vie. It was just one of those wtf brain farts and that’s all there is to it. The toothbrush doesn’t fit into these pouches, but at least soap and the dish fit just fine. I would like to make a few more similar pouches, because I got a different, lightweight fusible fleece and want to see how that works for pouches and shopping bags.
